Liquid Rock
"Liquid Rock" is an exploration of the elusive nature of time and the concept of impermanence. This piece is a small projection of approximately 30 cm by 30 cm, situated close to the floor. The sound is an oscillating sound with strong bass resonance. Intended to be both mesmerising and introspective, "Liquid Rock" invites viewers into a contemplative space. As they observe the projection, they may initially perceive the rock as static. However, with continued observation, the rock reveals its dynamic nature, slowly and almost imperceptibly changing, evoking a sense of wonder.
The installation challenges perceptions of rocks as symbols of unyielding permanence, presenting instead a rock subtly morphing into fluidity. This slow transformation echoes the subtle but relentless passage of time. “Liquid Rock” encourages viewers to reflect on the transient nature of existence, drawing attention to the beauty and intrigue found in the ongoing evolution of the world around us.
The piece has been made with AI technology. I began with a series of original images, manipulating an AI model to produce variations of the images. These images were intricately blended using AI, creating an illusion of the rock's gradual metamorphosis.
