Floating

Floating is a video projection. A line slowly moves up and down the image in endless motion. The piece is part of my ongoing investigation of sensory experiences related to water. It is about the moment in time around 6:30am, after I've swum for about 1km, and I pause at the end of pool and just float and feel the water rocking my body. It's at that moment that the world is soft and serene.

The piece is built with a combination of old and new media. The visual source material is charcoal drawings and pencil sketches that have been scanned, manipulated, and animated.
