This is one of those post I've been trying to find the time to do for while. I'm currently working on the resources for a short online course, the course is a lot more resource focused than my current online teaching.
What really stuck me about just focusing on resource development for a few days, was how much I missed the feedback loop of face to face teaching. Eg if students are confused it's so easy to try another way of explaining or showing a concept or process. With resource based learning it seems like all your energy gets invested in just one way of showing something. Maybe this is where discussion topics focused on a the topic come in. Maybe this investment in just one way of explaining, is a fault in the learning design, but I'm finding that resource development is one those things that can become an endless task.
While I like the process of resource development, I'm not sure if it's something I could spend my whole life doing. Maybe it's the thinking and planning stage that I enjoy more.
