notes from late last week

Back to working on my MAC, the screen feels so big.

What I really want to do before the week starts is write up some notes about
the last two days of teaching.

Thursday

  • small problem based tasked worked well from the introduction of Premiere.
A few students that would have been part of Monkey See Monkey do session
took part. But students still tried to keep up with me we I doing the demo,
old habits die hard. I will keep on trying to develop this method more. Part
of what was also nice was doing this way gave me chance to break up the screen
capture files, which means they can be re-purposed easily.

  • Also most of students seem happy to have the chance to work on there own
project for change. But I’m worried about the scale of some of the
    projects already.

Friday

What I do differently next time.

  • One make sure the days are closer to together.

  • Make sure the projects people attempt to do are only small.

  • Used the small method I used above for software demos.

  • Think of days and only be half days (by the time people have to travel
they really are only half days)

  • Make sure all firewire etc is working on all the laptops beforehand.

Overall the end of week was good. It was busy week and I didn’t get a lot
work other than TAFE work done but it was a rewarding week.
